1. Peel, core and thinly slice the apples. Toss them with the remainder of block one ingredients. Transfer to a 9x13" pan and spread evenly.
2. Combine ingredients in block 2 and whisk to make sure any sugar clumps are broken up and everything is well mixed. Add the melted butter and mix well to combine. Pour over the apples evenly.
3. Bake for 50 minutes at 350° and check for doneness. The apples in the center should be very soft. If it's browning too quickly you may need to cover it with foil towards the end of baking. This took one hour in my home oven but we'll need to make adjustments. Let it cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. Slice once lengthwise, then twice width wise to make 6 portions.
4. When reheating for service, transfer one slice to metal baking pan. Heat uncovered in 350 oven 5 minutes. Top with 2 scoops ice cream
